Fall dates for registered Drop-ins – Registration Required
Since we’ve already receive overwhelming interest in the Fall drop-in programs, we decided that the most equitable way to offer the spaces would be through a lottery; the registration lottery for the Fall drop-in programs of the Ottawa Forest & Nature School will be opened for two days August 27th and 28th. We will randomly assign the spaces from all of the families that entered their name in the lottery. We will send confirmation of registration by September 20th, 2019.
Two 4 week sessions will be offered for the drop-ins. The cost per session is $40/family and is non-refundable. The program takes place rain or shine!

How to Apply – a lottery approach
Thank you for your patience and we are ecstatic so many children are interested in spending time in the forest.
For 2019 we maintained the Child and Nature Alliance’s tradition and past practice of giving priority to currently enrolled families, this results in a very limited number of spaces being available for open registration; we will likely continue this approach in the future.
To equitably offer the remaining spaces, we open registration for two days and then randomly assign the available spaces from all of the families that chose that option.
The dates for public registration are promoted in advance through social media:
- Fall registration is occurs around the middle of July
- Winter registration middle of October
- Summer camp registration after March Break
