Who We Are

Early in 2015 Andrew Fleck Children’s Services (AFCS) welcomed Alta Vista Kindergarten and School Age Program as one of our group sites. Located in Alta Vista Public School, 1349 Randall Ave., this program has been an important service to the community providing quality early learning and care since 1986.

We provide the extended day component to the full day. Our hours of operation for both the Kindergarten and School Age Programs are 7:00 – 9:00 AM / 3:30 – 5:45 PM and full day care on all school holidays.

What We Do

Our full-time hours of care are 7:00– 5:45 PM, recognizing that the kindergarten and school age children attend school during the school year.

Our programs offer a child-focused curriculum where staff and children work together to expand and develop a wide range of skills and competence based on the emergent curriculum philosophy. An emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of the children. It is often spontaneous and responsive to their immediate interests; topics are driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves.

Our Team

The onsite Program Coordinator and full time teaching staff all have Early Childhood Education qualifications or a recognized equivalency, are registered with the College of ECE, and hold valid First Aid and CPR. Our staff are dedicated, professional and eager to welcome your child into our fun learning environment.
